Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) are jointly hosting the Open Government Partnership Global Summit 2019 (OGPGS). This is being done in conjunction with the Open Government Partnership Secretariat. Participants to the OGPGS are required to be accredited. In order to be accredited, applicants must provide certain personal information that will be used to determine whether they may be accredited for the above-noted meeting and granted access to select secure zones at the official venue. The information is essential for making the above-noted determination and, should it not be provided, accreditation will not be granted.
How we protect your privacy during registration and accreditation
The personal information that you provide is protected under the Privacy Act and may be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with that Act. The personal information is collected under the authority of s. 10 of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Act and s.s. 7(1) of the Financial Administration Act and will be shared with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for the security verification portion of the accreditation process. The RCMP may further share the information for the purposes of the accreditation process, with other Government of Canada institutions. GAC may also share this personal information with TBS for the purposes of accreditation and organizational and logistical matters and disclose it to the Open Government Partnership Secretariat for the purpose of communicating with the Participants as well as for statistical data. GAC may also disclose to employers who are providing goods or services for the event mentioned above, the names of their employees who have been accredited. The information will be stored by GAC in Personal Information Bank GAC PPU 904, by TBS in Standard Personal Information Bank PSU 938 and by the RCMP in Personal Information Bank RCMP PPU 060.
Personal information that GAC may disclose to the Open Government Partnership Secretariat is : first and last name of a participant, their e-mail address, participant’s gender, affiliated Organization’s name, country of the affiliated Organization, type of Organization and participant’s Country of Residence. This information will be used only for the purposes to communicate with participants and their affiliated Organization’s and for statistical purposes.
How you can access your personal information held by the Government of Canada
Under the Privacy Act, Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and individuals present in Canada have the right to access personal information about them held by a government institution and request that the information be corrected if they believe that there is an omission or error. Images and audio taken during Open Government Partnership Global Summit 2019 may be broadcasted, reproduced and/or made available in print publications, online or on mobile devices by the Government of Canada, Open Government Partnership, media and others, and may form part of one or more audio-visual productions intended for promotion via the internet, intranet and on home or mobile devices. By attending this event, you are consenting to the use of your appearance (in whole or in part), image and voice in the production and in any promotion or use of the production in any media.
