Media representatives must apply for accreditation to attend Canada’s Open Government Partnership Global Summit.
Accreditation will allow professional members of the media to access the Summit’s official media centre (filing room), media activities, media liaison services, press conference room(s) and any public areas in the venue from May 29 to 31, 2019.
To receive a media accreditation, media representatives must complete the online media accreditation form. Online media accreditation will close at 11:59 pm EDT on May 21, 2019.
Note that media accreditation is non-transferable.
Accreditation badges must be worn to access all Summit venues.
Non-professional media are invited to register as Participants.
Non-professional media are welcome to record, photograph, film and request interviews with officials in common areas during their participation as an attendee in the Summit.
Note that some activities may only be open to accredited media.
The official Summit program will be released in the coming weeks.
Pick-up of media accreditation badges
Media representatives who have been approved for accreditation will be provided instructions through email on how, when and where to pick up their badges.
Note that accreditation badges must be worn by media at all times during the Summit. If your badge is lost or stolen, you must immediately go to the Accreditation Office in the Summit venue.
Media centre services
Media representatives will have access to a media centre (filing room) equipped with power and Internet access. No printing services will be available for media.
Additional details on the location of the media centre, its hours of operation and services will come in the coming weeks.
Media will be invited to attend a daily background briefing each morning. More information to come in the following weeks.
Media liaison services
Media representatives may consult the Government of Canada’s official media liaison officers at the Summit for their informational and interview needs. More details will be available in the coming weeks.
Information products for media will be made available in English, French and, in some cases, Spanish.

Official photographs of the main Summit events will be taken by the Government of Canada and made available to media, royalty free. The photos will be made available through a file hosting service during the Summit.
